Resurrection Church

Resurrection Church began in 2000, when BUM, the Evangelical Fellowship of the Messiah in Prishtina began evangelistic efforts in Gjilan, Kosova. Those efforts intensified two years later when the CMA and BUM officially partnered in hopes of seeing a church-planting movement reach eastern Kosova. The dream was, and is, to see evangelical churches planted in Gjilan, Kamenica and Viti by working together. For several years BUM member and evangelist Fatmir Ibrihimi traveled from Prishtina twice a week to work with the small group in Gjilan.

In the fall of 2004, the fellowship moved from its original location to take up residence in a new location across the street from the teachers' college. Since then the group has seen a number of people make decisions to follow Jesus. Efforts to reach the community with the Good News of Jesus have happened through:

• An Evangelistic piano concert
• Distributing 5,000 New Testaments throughout Gjilan
• Special meetings at the church
• Christmas meetings at the local theater and other locations
• Weekly Bible Studies and small group meetings
